Smoking Cessation among African American and Hispanic Cigarette Smokers:

The purpose of this study is to assess rates of illicit drug use among 250 male and female African American and Hispanic cigarette smokers aged 18 to 39 years. A second study aim is to identify risk and protective factors associated with urine testing positive for illicit drugs. A third aim is to pilot test the feasibility and acceptability of a tobacco cessation intervention, Cognitive Executive Function Intervention (CEFI) among 20 African Americans aged 18 to 39 years who urine test positive for cotinine and self-report smoking 5 or more cigarettes daily.
